Experiencing Sayama Hills at Dawn
One nice thing about living in burbs of western Tokyo is Tama Lake and the surrounding 3,500 ha Sayama Hills. In fact, for nature starved Tokyoites it’s probably largest recreation area within 30 km (18.5 mi.) of downtown Tokyo and a terrific spot for all things outdoors – bar fishing and boating that is. Over the past few weeks, I have been setting my alarm at an unconscionably early 05:00 am and making haste to my local train station for the short 12-minute ride to Seibu-Yuenchi which is close to the dam wall. The weather and lighting has varied quite a bit making for some nice contrasting shots of the shoreline and nearby mountains.
